Explore your Ontario roots in June!

The Toronto Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society is pleased to present a unique summer experience for family historians with research interests in Ontario.

Genealogy Summer Camp is an innovative five-day program that has been coordinated by Branch member Jane E. MacNamara for more than 20 years. Registration is now open for the 2018 Summer Camp, which will run from June 4 to 8, 2018.

Campers will visit the Archives of Ontario, City of Toronto Archives, Toronto Reference Library, and their choices of the four denominational archives in Toronto. Each day will include a tour or tutorial, and plenty of time for family history research, under the guidance of local experts. This program is designed mainly for out-of-towners, but we also welcome Toronto-area researchers. It’s a great way to get acquainted (or reacquainted) with the wonderful genealogy resources and repositories in Ontario’s largest city. We’ll help you spend more time finding information, and less time finding the archives!

And there’s a bonus! The 2018 Summer Camp will take place right after the annual Ontario Genealogical Society Conference in nearby Guelph. If you’re already planning to attend the OGS Conference, why not extend your stay and enjoy an extra week of concentrated research in Ontario records.  Summer Camp registrants get a special discount on OGS Conference rates!

Spaces in Genealogy Summer Camp are limited. For more information and the online application, please visit wherethestorytakesme.ca.
