2019 marks the 150th year since the first BHC arrived in Canada. The British Home Children Avocacy & Research Association is asking communities in Canada and the UK to participate win the Beacons of Light for BHC tribute by illuminating memorials, monuments, buildings or other areas with the colours of BHCARA. In Calgary, the Calgary Tower will be lit in red, white and blue on September 25, Reconciliation Bridge will be lit in yellow lights on September 28, the Telus Spark Science Museum will be lit in red, white and blue on September 28, and Forest Lawn Library will host a special event on September 28 from 1 to 4 pm.
