The Chinook County Historical Society is once again sponsoring Historic Calgary Week from July 22 to August 1st,  2011 in Calgary, Alberta Canada.

The Alberta Family Histories Society will be presenting the following:

1. GENEALOGY 101 – Getting Started

Date: Tuesday July 26

Time:  7 pm.

Where: Alberta Family Histories Society Library, 712 – 16th Avenue NW, Calgary Alberta

Description:  Interested in researching your family history?  We can help.  Enjoy a visual presentation on how you can get started exploring your ‘roots’.  After, tour our library and view our resources which include books, journals, cemetery transcriptions and more.  Knowledgeable people will be on hand to answer your questions.

2.  Here’s Looking Up Your Ancestors

Time:  7 pm

Where:  Alberta Family Histories Society Library, 712 – 16th Avenue NW, Calgary Alberta

Description:  Who am I?  Where did I come from?  By tracing your family history you can find the answers.  Our visual presentation will teach you the basic steps to getting started on your family tree research.  After, browse our library, view our many resources and speak with experienced people who will be happy to answer your questions.
