Digital Genealogy / Family Genes Special Interest Group

May 14 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm MDT

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every month that begins at 10:00 am on day Second of the month, repeating until June 11, 2022

This special interest group has two areas of focus: 1) All things digital that can be used for genealogy research 2) The Family Genes service offered by our Society.

The meeting will be held via Zoom, and the invitation will be sent to the members of this Special Interest Group a few days before by Jim.

This is the last meeting until September and we have two interesting topics for you.  If you have a vast but scattered collections of photos, portraits, documents, letters and more, it is a challenge to sort and organize on a computer.  We explore an interesting tool, Tropy, designed by and for academic document researchers and it is free.  Is this the tool you have been looking for to sort out all those docs on your ancestors?  Then we have a look at a new set of features on the Family Genes project website, designed to help you find family connections with other AFHS members.

We welcome visitors! If you would like to be a guest, please contact communications@afhs.ab.ca
