Restoring Great-Grandma’s Homestead presented by Wendy Robertson.
Wendy Robertson grew up in northern Alberta along the banks of the Peace River on and near her great grandmother Clara’s homestead. Since its construction in 1933, the log cabin and surrounding property has been enjoyed by 6 generations of extended family and countless friends. Though the property was passed down to Wendy’s father, it has significant meaning to many extended family and friends and remains a place where all are welcome. After nearly 90 years of use, the log cabin is deteriorating to the point that major restoration work is required to keep it standing for future generations. After many discussions, decisions and fund-raising, the hard work began in the summer of 2021. Wendy will share how she and others are preserving this piece of her family heritage.
This meeting will be held via Zoom. Members will be sent the Zoom invitation via email on Saturday, March 11 in a Windsock message.
