Want to get started on family history? Or have you tried to get started and need some help? This two-part workshop will give you tips and inspire you to build your family tree. Limited spaces. Free to AFHS members. $25 for non-members.

Session 1: Sunday, March 19 from 1:00 to 2:30 pm – Hybrid meeting from the AFHS Library and via Zoom (mainly instructional)

  • How to fill out a Family Group Sheet
  • Importance of Citing Sources
  • Where to Look
  • The Internet as a Source
  • Homework assignment

Session 2: Sunday, April 2 from 1:00 to 2:30 pm at the AFHS Library (in-person only)

  • Review homework
  • Pedigree Charts
  • The Research Process
  • Census Records
  • Timelines
  • Time to research with experienced AFHS members using the resources of the AFHS Library
