The AFHS Society Meeting is our regular meeting for all members, usually held on the second Monday of each month from September to June. Guests are welcome to attend!
Topic: Our Annual General Meeting
This will be a hybrid meeting held at Bow Cliff Seniors Centre (3375 Spruce Drive SW, Calgary). To attend in person, just come to the meeting place! To attend via Zoom, please register here.
Following the AGM, Ron Gilmore will present “Murder and Consequences.”
Description: A story that follows a murder in our family that led to two women being convicted of murder and sentenced to death. The story also includes a host of illegitimate children. We follow one of the women on a ship to a penal colony in a journey reminiscent of “Mutiny on the Bounty.” Thereafter, we encounter characters who paper the pages of Canadian and British History. If it was in the USA, we would liken the tales to those of Custer’s Last Stand. in the national psyche.
Caution: Not a “How To” and not intended for anyone who might be squeamish or sensitive.
